London Grimey Weekend
Had a mad weekend not doing much....here's a couple pics that I snapped along the way.

WTF kind of name for a building is that?

Managed to catch a pretty bad FAIL off my BMX yesterday. My peg gouged out my shin, exposing the bone, meaning I had to go to hospital and miss the first bit of the World Cup Finals...

7 stitches for a lazy nibble on the BMX! What did we learn from this kids? Wear Shin Pads!!!

Helped my friend to move house & this is now his new next door neighbour! Love the gaffa tape statement....Good Luck with your new abode Jerome & be sure to make friends with the Devil!

Bikes Crashing Into Love

This is a metaphorical short video about bikes, movement, freedom and love by designer, Raoul Paulet.
"Every day the mind tries to get the better of heart. Space and time have
always existed and we can't stop them. Through movement,
we discover ourselves. Speed is like curiosity. A crash between two bodies.
To remind us that we are not alone."

Hong Kong Gets A Huge Skatepark
Finally HKG skaters/riders can have somewhere decent to hang out. This skate park near Kowloon City was designed by Simon Oxenham, Managing Director of Convic Skatepark Designs, together with Darren White. Simon Oxenham has actually built many top skate parks in the world, especially in Asia, including SMP in Shanghai and the Xtreme park in Singapore.

713 Graphic Design

SevenOneThree is the design label of Remi Issaly and I particularly like what he is doing with typography at the moment. He also takes wicked pictures of BMX in action, from both street to flatland.

Nao Yoshida Wins Under23 Comp Yokohama

Close friend Nao Yoshida, just informed me that he has won the Under23 Flatland Competition in Yokohama, Japan! Major congratulations to this guy who is still so young. We met on a B-ball court in East LDN and even though there is an age gap of 10 years, we got on so well with a mutual respect of each others achievements. I hope he will come back to LDN and give me some more tips on how to ride flatland properly!

Progressive Flatland BMX
20 yr old Frenchman Matthias Dandois and 22 yr old Hungarian, Adam Kun are taking the art of Flatland to another level and its so good to see some incredible talent coming from the younger guys. That means that this niche sport still has the potential to continue into the next decade without fear of fizzling slowly out of existence. The sickest rotation/whip tricks I have ever seen. There are a million vids out there with these two riders, I decided on this gem...enjoy!
